Spruce Up Your Patio for Summer (Without Spending a Ton)
Summer’s almost here, and that means it’s time to give your patio a little glow-up. Both Toly and I from TeamTJ are in the middle of refreshing our outdoor spaces - and yes, we will try our best to keep the plants alive.
Easy, Budget-Friendly Patio Ideas
If you’re looking to do the same, here are a few simple, budget-friendly ideas to make your patio feel fresh and ready for the season.
Add Life with Herbs & Flowers
Start with a few potted herbs like basil, mint, or rosemary. They’re cheap, smell amazing, and double as garnish for summer drinks (priorities). Add some easy, colorful flowers like petunias or marigolds in hanging baskets or planter boxes—low effort, high impact.
Let There Be Light (and Style)
Lighting makes all the difference. String up some solar fairy lights or outdoor lanterns to set the mood. Want to take it up a notch? Add a cute outdoor rug to pull the space together and toss in a few bright cushions for instant comfort.
DIY Touches That Don’t Require Power Tools
Feeling crafty? Stack a couple of old wooden crates for a rustic side table or plant stand. It’s Pinterest-worthy without requiring actual woodworking skills.
Don’t Forget the Shade
And if your patio gets full sun, a basic umbrella or shade sail can be a game-changer—because no one wants to be grilled alongside the burgers.
