Give Warmth, Give Hope: Clothing Drive on November 30
On Sunday, November 30 from 4–6 pm, we invite you to join us at Kits Beach Coffee (1945 Cornwall Ave) for a special community event: a clothing drive & fundraiser for those in need in Vancouver. Whether you’re donating one item or your entire closet, every piece counts, because when someone has fewer resources, something as simple as a warm jacket or a clean pair of socks can make a world of difference.
This event is to support:
Why This Matters
Many people arrive at shelters with only the clothes on their backs - warm layers and everyday basics are in constant demand.
At shelters in Canada, women make up about one third of those experiencing homelessness.
In Vancouver, roughly 2,400 people are in a state of homelessness or unstable housing.
Shelters often operate at or beyond capacity, which means turning people away when their needs are greatest.
Donating clothes isn’t just about warmth, it’s about dignity, comfort, and providing a fresh start.
What You Can Bring
Here are the types of items our partners need, gathered from UGM & DEWC’s wish-lists:

Jackets & coats (men’s & women’s)
Hoodies, sweaters, sweatshirts
Long- and short-sleve shirts
Pants, jeans, joggers, leggings
Boots, running shoes, rain boots
Socks, underwear (new preferred)
Seasonal & weather-appropriate items
Warm hats, toques, gloves
Rain ponchos, waterproof gear
Emergency blankets, sleeping bags
Hygiene & personal-care items

What is the Alderwood Complex Care / Key Worker Program?
Your donations will also support the Children’s Foundation’s Alderwood program, which serves children up to age 19 (and their families) living with diagnoses or evaluations of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) or Complex Neurodevelopmental Conditions (CDBC).
This program is trauma-informed, family-centred and designed to provide:
Individualized assessments and planning for each child and youth
Skills development, education and coordination of community resources
Support for transitions and future planning
When you donate, you’re not just giving clothes, you’re supporting programs that help children with invisible disabilities, and their families, thrive.
